“Scarborough… is actually a really great place to live and I really enjoy that part of it. I think that the College just reflects that because the College is largely students from the local community. They come to the College and you see that reflecting as the neighbourhoods’ children grow up. You see them coming to the College and so it’s just a natural sort of evolution.”

Kim McLean moved to Scarborough as a child and has been living in the community ever since. She was a student of UTSC’s Cooperative Program in Administration in the 1980s and later the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the campus for 12 years. She is currently the CAO of the Faculty of Arts & Science on the St. George campus. In her interview Kim talks about being a working mother, her role in the development of the Pan Am Aquatic Centre and Field House, and women in positions of leadership.

I think it is a humbleness of this campus, never quite certain of itself

It [the campus day care centre] was a fabulous resource to have as a working mother

If it's a really great project, people will figure out how to make it happen
