“Life is already there, but what do you make of life? How do you take the circumstances of your life and create a path for yourself? I think I learned very early on as a student at UTSC how to do that. And those skills never leave you, they're just really valuable skills that you can carry forward in your life.”
The Honourable Mitzie Hunter is the Associate Minister of Finance with responsibilities for the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan and represents the riding of Scarborough-Guildwood. She grew up in Scarborough and is a graduate of UTSC where among other initiatives, she started MOSAIC. In her interview she talks about her experience on campus, her passion for bringing people together, and shares reflections on becoming a Black woman in a position of leadership.
